At Dagenham Park Sixth Form, as part of the Southern Consortium, it is our priority to support students to reach their potential and successfully gain a place at university or apprenticeship once they complete their time with us in the sixth form. Our academic results show year on year improvement and are set to be above national averages. Our vocational results are outstanding. And, last year, 92% of our students went to university, with our Oxbridge preparation course successfully leading to conditional offers from Cambridge and students gaining entry to Russell Group Universities.
We accomplish this by supporting learning and success with our effective sixth form team which contains a Head of Sixth Form, Heads of Year and an Academic Mentor who work with students to help them stay on track. We deliver a programme which will inform students how to best study and learn independently as well as prepare them for life beyond 18. We have a highly effective aspiration programme which enhances students experience of higher education establishments such as Kings College, UAL and LSE whom we have strong links with. And, there are our ‘routes to success’ which include our excellent Faculties of Business and Economics and the Arts where we have links with entrepreneurs and professional performing arts companies such as Frantic Assembly and Rada. All students also have the opportunity to take part in enhancing activities such as the Duke of Edinburgh, Arts Mark or our Language Programme. In these ways we ensure that sixth form achievement is maximised and learning through ICT and an exceptional conducive environment is realised. Sixth Formers create an ethos of values and maturity through their roles of responsibility in the life of the school. All are valued, all strive for excellence.
